Primitive Code panel

"Primitive Code" is a work that evokes an ancestral visual language - a script that belongs to no known language, but instinctively resonates. The black, geometrised figures are cut and engraved as in a sacred stone slab. Each shape seems to carry meaning, each negative space - a pause, a breath between symbols. The painting offers no clear centre or linear narrative. It is constructed as a code locked in a mould, a composition of shapes that attract and repel each other, as in a graphic ritual. The textured background, with its earthy patches and traces of wear and tear, emphasises the idea of a relic - a visual artefact transmitted from a world that no longer speaks, but can still be read with the eye of the soul.
