"Carved Memory" is a work that seems to be taken from an ancestral wall, engraved with simple but profound gestures. The frontal face, divided between black and white, gives the impression of an archaic mask through which a silent but overwhelming emotion is manifested - a personal memory transformed into a collective symbol. The gaze, direct and fixed, attracts and destabilises. It is a presence that cannot be ignored. The visual texture is intense, with scratches, shadows and minute details suggesting the passage of time - as if the work had been excavated, not painted. The fragmented geometric shapes, combined with the organic structure of the drawing, create a balance between chaos and order, between human and abstract. In the corners, other meshes appear subtly, like memories or spirits accompanying the central figure. Part of the Africa collection, "Carved Memory" is a work that turns silence into a message.
