Are you the reflection in the steady mirror of every day, the known and what you were taught to be? Or are you the one who doesn't turn away when you do, the one who continues to watch you, long after you've gone.

I dare you to tell me who you are.

After you've stripped yourself of labels, skin color, fate and beliefs. Of names, the way you say "thank you" and how much you know how to love. Of your parents, of your childhood, of those who presented you with boxes that squeezed you and led you astray on roads beaten by others before you. Strip away even those who touched your soul, who saw and appreciated you, those to whom you owe nothing for who you are today. I dare you to tell me who you are after you take off your masks, after you break down the walls, after you finish whatever war you started with the world outside or inside. If you want, I can tell you who you are. You are the fire and the red-hot coals in it. Merciless wind and healing breeze, child and mother's love alike. You are the witch and the rider, you are the crowd that watches and the one that is watched. You are the footsteps that are heard and the one who footsteps them, you are all this world, since before you were born.

Identiology Collection

A collection-concept, a philosophy of beauty, an ode to the Self seen as the only truth that matters. The VLAdiLA designers have created a series of paradoxical works in which the portrait is governed by the element of anonymity. This allows you to discover the beautiful and the ugly in every line without judgement, to accept the sublime subjectivity of art and to open yourself to the possibility of being carried away to a world of human spectacle. The Identiology wallpaper collection proposes answers to a question that, consciously or unconsciously, has always governed our lives. A question that defines human consciousness, that makes us sentient beings and justifies why we dominate the food pyramid. "Who am I?" is imperative, it is the end of life on autopilot, it is the moment when we take our power back and begin, in truth, to live. "Who am I?" cleanses the emotions, creates confusion while providing clarity and the answers that come are subtle, like a mysterious mist. They penetrate the body from top to bottom, vertically, educating each cell with the higher truth. They come by chance, when you least expect it, like a message that has been encoded for millennia before you turned your attention to it. Technically, the Identiology collection began as a series of portraits drawn in pencil or watercolour in the Baroque style. As they took shape, the artists added rococo clothing elements, giving eclecticism and infinite elegance to the designs. Thus the first 12 portraits are part of the classical aesthetic of the past, combining austerity with rococo frenzy. In the second part of the collection, the VLAdiLA artists have created a stylistic antithesis, combining traditional figurative art with a cubist perspective. This technique brings together past and future through a modern collection of human performance.

House of VLAdiLA is a family business born in 2018 from the love for art and passion for beauty of the founders, Dragos and Oana Vladila.
